May Allah Ta’ala grant our Beloved Aqa Moula [T.U.S] a very long and healthy life. Ameen!
Yes, we’re back!
And since Murtaza Bhai isn’t around anymore, I thought I’d keep the site alive. Especially, since the 100th Milad Mubarak of Aqa Moula [T.U.S.] is coming around.
And as humble ibaadat, Tolaba has lined up a host of events this year too. Though the list hasn’t been finalized yet, one thing is for sure, the number of events has been increased.
Starting off this year’s events, Tolaba is back with it’s favourite volleyball tournament:
V League III
Clash of The Titans
Details in the next post. Keep reading!
Abde Syedna T.U.S.
Okay. Seems like a year since we have communicated anything at all thro’ this blog. And boy, how we feel sorry for it. Apologies. I hope you can get over with it now that we’ve accepted our mistake.
This post might be a bit long for your liking, but feel free to skip it. BTW, we have no way of knowing if anyone reads it. Albeit number of hits / page views we get is logged but that’s no estimate to how many of you actually read it. Anyways, disclosures aside. Let’s get the summary of Burhani Sports Day done, shall we?
It began with power outage at the Kikani Grounds (the venue of BSD 2009 at cbe) and it was a mess. But we had to manage, and we did. Some would disagree and it is difficult to please everyone but still we did what we could do. Alright then, a total of 21 events were held (see poster) with well over 40 participants on average per events for kids, and 20 on average per events for adults. We were not overwhelmed but finances, unfortunately, were. Not to worry, we had some good souls coming in to our rescue with hefty amounts and we’re grateful for that.
(Sorry, I would have listed all the sponsors here but well, half of the list is unreadable due it getting washed and all in rain. It’d be unfair if I mentioned only a few names as each and every contribution helped. We’d make it upto you someday, sponsors. Lest we move on. Note: Main Sponsors are however mentioned in the pdf downloadable from the link at the end of the article.)
Here’s a list of winners. Ah, I know it’s not the best formatting ever, but it looks best in pdf downloadable from here- BSD 2009 Results.

I’m going to go all bonkers with several topics here today. Been a busy month of Ta’budat which has kept me away from updating this blog (whilst we continue to receive heavy traffic from Google). Well let’s get blogging shall we?
First things first– A vital blow that rocked the very foundation of Dawoodi Bohra community: Yes, I’m referring to Our Aqa’ Moula (Jaano Si Au’la)’s sudden “girawat” in “mizaaz.” We can be sure of one thing though, Moula being as “Masoom” as one could be is bearing all the “bal’a” that’s there in this world for the “gunaah” that we mumineen invariably tend to make. And, we can only be grateful to God for having given him ‘Shifaah’ and for mercifully answering our dua’s. These agonizing days must be the toughest the Bohra community must have faced in quite some time. We’ve conducted our selves well all these years (no doubt) and that has meant that dawat’s enemies couldn’t quite take that down their throat.
Articles in newspapers (Slaughter goats to save Syedna) [I’ve a better idea: Slaughter yourself and save us time!] and the great IndiaTV tamasha [a news channel for those who believe in bollocks and those who are hell bent on getting misguided] couldn’t come at a more apt time to anguish us. While they’ve managed to hurt us immeasurably, it has at the same time made us strong for its said, ‘What doesn’t break you, makes you stronger.’
All wounds, if any, caused by those “napak khinjirs” were short lived as Moulana’s condition bettered just days before his 98th Milad on April 15th. Well, to hell with our enemies, the only thing we care about is well-being of our father and our Aqa Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin TUS. The last we’ve seen (deedar) our bawa shafi was way back in March. Mumineen can’t wait to have him back. May God grant him a healthy life ta’ roze qayamat. Ameen.
Lest We Forget.
Now, on to the next interesting topic: Happiness. I’m quite sure that all your homes and mohallas must be joy filled at the “bushra” of Moulana’s shifaa days before the 98th Milad. Here, at Coimbatore, the atmosphere was electric. I will try to get photos posted of the events on April 14th and 15th. It was such a relief.
TKMc had planned various sports events that were cancelled citing the ill health of Moulana, only to be replanned and redone again during last weeks of April and first few weeks of May, Insha allah.
Calling on all sponsors to come forward and help us in this good cause. These events are rescheduled to newer dates (Disclaimer: Take this bit of information with a pinch of salt as nothing has yet been confirmed): Treasure Hunt– April 26th or May 2nd. Burhani Sports Day– April 26th or May 2nd or May 9th. V League E2– May 9th or May 16th.
Last things last: A little piece of information on Burhani Sports Club: The ground leveling plan can only be commissioned when majority of the members who continue to use the courts without paying dues can only care more to pay and help us help them.
Contact us at: tolaba at live dot in or leave comments to this article to criticize / respond / suggest.
After weeks of tussle and conflicts, its finally been finalised: Burhani Sports Club. A very limited facilities club (considering the amount of funding went into it, its really amazing we pulled it off), with just two courts at present- a Volley Ball court and a Badminton court.
And here’s a sample membership card, which is also released under CC attribution license.
And Burhani Sports Club Charter will be upped soon. Watch this space or you can RSS instead.

The wait is finally over. I’ve upped pics that I thought were worthy of being shown on mass media as big as internet. Albeit in a low resolution, you’d still appreciate the photographic skills on display :p

That’s all folks. Treasure Hunt is next on our calendar (March 29th ’09). If you haven’t registered yet, do it now. Contact Huzefa Calcuttawala (+91 900 35 888 51).
Hmmm.. so our blog appears in top 10 of Google results for virtually every search made about 98th Milad Mubarak. Well, I’d take this opportunity to release the official logo 98th Milad Mubarak of Our A’qa and Da’i Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb TUS, so that people don’t go away disappoined form our blog.
And also, preparations have begun for Treasure Hunt (Early bird catches the worm- March 29) and Burhani Sports Day (Let Sportsmanship Shine- April 12). Logo for BSD is here, if you’d only care. Released under CC attribution license, any one’s free to use/modify/sell.
